Annual leadership campout at Buck Hill - Everyone id invited!
We will provide assistance with forming lines to see Santa and collection the food donations brought as the price of admission. This will take place inside the old "Industrial Trust Company" building on the corner of Market and Main Streets.
We will be set up on Baker Street in Warren handing out candles and free hot chocolate.
Get your hiking boots ready!
We will be meeting at the church at 7:00am, leaving no later than 7:30am and returning no later than 5pm. If you are free this is a great hike and we can always use a couple extra parents to help supervise the boys.
Please do not wear slip-ons or sneakers with limited treads. We will be hiking all day - some terrain will be rocky, some may be wet. I know a couple weeks ago I purchased some waterproof hiking boots for my son at Walmart for only $17. Either way you will want something with decent ankle support, decent treads, and waterproof if possible.
Also "Be Prepared" - we went over what should be packed in a daypack last Tuesday - here is a basic list (in case your son forgot): sunscreen, bug spray, water, trail mix & snacks, lunch, compass, personal first aid kit, poncho, extra pair of socks, ScoutBook, pad, writing instrument, small pair of binoculars (optional), small camera (optional).
This should be a fun day that you don't want to miss!
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me!
The Warren Recreation Board would like our help!
There will be a Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt and they would like 4 to 5 Scouts to serve hot cocoa, take care of the trash barrels, general clean-up etc.. This is a great opportunity for service hours too!
More details to follow.
Help us do what Scouts are meant to do by attending our pasta dinner fundraiser at St Mary of the Bay Church
If you are a First Class Scout, have completed 15 nights of camping (including one long term camping trip-Yawgoog), and demonstrate what it means to live by the Scout Oath and Law then you are eligible for nomination.
Please be in Class A uniform for this meeting!
We will be camping at Camp Buxton March 4th through the 6th. There is no doubt that it will be cold so make sure you have all the cold weather gear you will need a head of time.
I strongly urge you to make sure your Scout has thermal underwear (top and bottom), thermal socks, boots (anything but sneakers), gloves, hats, etc...
Cost for the weekend will be $20 per Scout
